We  came to SF State and had the opportunity to work with Kim Chua, a student in an Opinion Writing class. We got to ask several students what their favorite and least favorite places were.

When asking students what they didn’t like about their neighborhood they all had something in common: They are dangerous, dirty or have stuck up people or rich people who think they’re better than others.

Brianne Baldwin, 19, is from Creekside, a neighborhood in Santa Clarita, CA. She also picked it as her least favorite neighborhood.

“People are very sheltered,” she said. “They don’t really interact with other people.”

Another reason was that in Creekside, there are many rich people and sometimes they can be mean.

People’s favorite neighborhoods also had things in common: They are good places to relax, they have a lot of restaurants and they’re good to hang out.

Ramsey Harvey, 19, likes South Lake Tahoe. She likes it because she gets to do many things there.

“I like winter sports, outdoor recreation and arts and crafts things,” she said.
